Charting a NEW Course!

Charting a NEW Course for the Petrolia Ex-Student Association. The recently elected PESA officers (at the June 13, 2026 Reunion) have an opportunity to make Petrolia History by taking some very simple steps to make the Petrolia Ex-Student Association a legal entity that is more viable, sustainable, responsible, accountable, credible, and financially transparent. Many members speculate that these changes will result in the PESA membership dues increasing, as well as generating donations and other revenue.

By becoming an IRS recognized non-profit (501, c3) the PESA also would open up previously untapped funding sources and opportunities such as digital membership payments, donations, grants, and other options. Several PESA members have volunteered to advise, assist and support the PESA Officers as they chart this new course. The Midwestern State University also offers the Center for Nonprofit Management & Leadership where the PESA officers can access free, unbiased advice, assistance, and support.

The PESA Officers are encouraged to discuss the issues presented in the “2026 State of the Petrolia Ex-Student Association” document they received, then, research the issues to discuss, consider and weigh their options and the inherent risks and any unintended consequences. They are strongly encouraged to contact the MSU Center and/or any of the Petrolia Alumni who have volunteered to advise, assist, and support them.

Together we can Make History and Chart a more vibrant, sustainable course for the Petrolia Ex-Student Association. Making it legitimate responsible, accountable, credible, and financially transparent.
